Project Overview
Back in 2018–2019, Slack didn’t support audio messages, and tools like Loom and Vocaroo were either unstable or unprofessional. To fix this, we built Voom with a dedicated development team. It’s a simple app for recording audio, sharing links, organizing files, and integrating with Slack. The full project took just 1 month: the design was ready within 1 week, development was done in a few sprints, and bug fixes plus feedback were handled in the final 2 weeks. Voom made team communication faster, easier, and more polished.

Voom was built to make voice communication easier and more professional. It lets users record audio, share it with a link, and organize files without limits. Unlike other tools, Voom keeps things simple, clean, and secure—no ads, no fuss. With built-in Slack integration, it fits smoothly into daily workflows. The goal was to create a fast, reliable way to send voice messages that feels personal yet polished.
Problems We Faced
No voice messages in Slack
We couldn’t send quick audio updates directly in our main communication tool.
Loom had no desktop app
